How did I ever manage without it? - I really have none of the problems highlighted in the other reviews. I have a heated windscreen but my TMC cradle works perfectly. I also have no problems with charging it as the actual attachment to the satnav is exactly the same as the original cradle. My only complaint is that it frequently changes my route for a traffic incident that I know is slow moving traffic but is still a better route. I would like to be able to tell it to sometimes ignore route changes. I don t know how I ever managed without it, it even works perfectly abroad!!
Navman T2 traffic cradle - Read the two previous reviews, but in spite of them went ahead and bought it anyway. I have had none of the mounting or charger plug problems noted here. However my car does have a heated windscreen, Navman DO tell you this may be a problem for radio reception, and it was, the only channel I had was the same Classic FM as reported by the others here, and very poor reception of that too. A few quick experiments, moving the whole thing outside the car found as expected all the problems were related to the heated screen.A quick look at the Navman website, quickly found that there was supposedly an external antenna available for the T2/S50, the problem was the purchase links died out to nothing. A number of emails to Navman customer service department (I have to say eventually) found that the correct antenna is available under the Satnav N series, when purchased this antenna completely transformed the T2 into a working device, I find it difficult to see why Navman don t supply this extra as standard equipment. My other only minor complaint is, because the traffic cradle is powered from the car, it can t be taken indoors and played with from the comfort of an armchair, to acclimatise with the controls etc.
Can t charge using this cradle! - Not sure what product the above review is about, but I agree with the rating. When the Navman is attached to this cradle, the in-car charging cable cannot fully plug into the bottom of the SatNav device, meaning you run out of battery (as happened to me last night). Not impressed.
Signal? - Bought this direct from Navman, turns out you need to be sitting on top of one of the 40 transmitters that broadcast Classic FM, the only way I could get a signal where I live in North Herts was to hold the end of the antenna out of the window whilst stationary. Trips to London (Crystal Palace transmitter) and Milton Keynes (Bow Brickhill transmitter) did result in picking up a signal, when it does the the re-routing works well, but leave the area where you get a signal you also loose the ability to receive new updates till back in a signal area.Poor reception would be the only reason why I d drop to a 1 star rating.
